Episcia ‘Pink Panther’

Episcia ‘Pink Panther’

Episcia ‘Pink Panther’ is a striking cultivar prized for its dramatic foliage and frequent blooms. Unlike many Episcia varieties that produce red flowers, ‘Pink Panther’ stands out with its bright pink, tubular blooms that appear regularly throughout the growing season.

The plant naturally produces numerous stolons (above ground stems that root to produce more plants), allowing it to spread outward or trail beautifully from hanging baskets. With the right tropical conditions, this plant becomes a vibrant and rewarding addition to any indoor plant collection.

Light
Prefers bright, filtered or indirect light to maintain its rich foliage color and encourage frequent blooming. It can tolerate moderate light, but low light may reduce flowering and dull the leaf contrast. Avoid direct sunlight, which can damage the delicate velvety leaves.

Water
Keep the soil consistently lightly moist, allowing only the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Typically watering every 5–7 days works well depending on humidity and temperature.
Use a well-draining, airy soil mix and ensure the container has drainage holes to prevent water from accumulating around the roots.

Pet Safe
Episcia species are generally considered non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans. However, it is still best practice to keep houseplants out of reach of pets and children to prevent accidental damage to the plant.

Watch out for…
This plant thrives in higher humidity and stable indoor conditions. Dry air can cause leaf edges to crisp or reduce flowering. Because it spreads via stolons, it may quickly fill its container or spill over the sides of hanging baskets.
Watch for common pests such as spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs, particularly in warm indoor environments.

Similar care to…
Shares similar care requirements with other Episcia varieties and many plants in the African violet family. It also thrives under conditions similar to African violets and other humidity loving tropical houseplants grown in bright, filtered light.
