Ric Rac Cactus

The Ric Rac Cactus, also known as the Fishbone Cactus or Zig Zag Cactus, is a striking houseplant with deeply lobed, zigzag-shaped leaves that give it a bold and modern look. Native to the tropical rainforests of Mexico, this epiphytic cactus grows naturally in tree canopies, which means it thrives in indirect light and humid conditions, unlike many desert cacti.

Light 

Prefers bright, indirect light. A few hours of gentle morning sun from an east-facing window is ideal, but avoid strong, direct afternoon sun which can scorch its fleshy leaves, causing dark patches. It can tolerate lower light but may grow more slowly.

Water Requirements

Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry, typically every 1 to 2 weeks depending on light and humidity. This plant enjoys even moisture during its growing season (spring through fall), but it's somewhat drought-tolerant due to its succulent-like leaves. Make sure your pot has drainage to prevent root rot.

Watch out for…
