Stromanthe Triostar

Stromanthe Triostar

With its vibrant pink, green, and cream variegated leaves, the Stromanthe Triostar is a true showstopper. Native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil, this plant is part of the prayer plant family (Marantaceae), and like its relatives, it moves its leaves up and down throughout the day in response to light. The striking coloration and bold foliage make it a favorite for those looking to add a tropical flair to their indoor plant collection.

Pet Safe

Yes, Stromanthe Triostar is non-toxic to pets and children.

Light

This plant prefers bright, indirect light, too much direct sun can cause the leaf edges to scorch or fade, while too little light can dull the plant’s vibrant color. A North- or East-facing window is ideal, or filtered light near a brighter window.

Water Requirements

Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry—usually once a week. Stromanthe loves humidity, so mist regularly, use a pebble tray, or place near a humidifier to keep it happy, especially in dry environments.

Watch out for…

If you see crispy or browning edges, that is typically due to low humidity or water with too high mineral content. Consider using filtered or distilled water if possible. If you see drooping leaves, that could indicate not enough water or a need for more humidity. Lastly, if you begin to see faded color on the leaves, that is a sign of too much direct sunlight.

Similar care to…

Stromanthe Triostar have similar needs to Calathea and Maranta. Plants that like moist soil, high humidity and indirect sunlight.
