Zamioculcas Zamiifolia (ZZ/Zanzibar Gem)

Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, better known as ZZ or Zanzibar Gem plants, are known for their glossy, dark green leaves and their ability to thrive in a variety of conditions. With their striking, waxy foliage and low-maintenance nature, they make a great choice for beginners or anyone looking for a resilient plant. ZZ plants are especially tolerant of low light and infrequent watering, making them perfect for busy homes or offices! Once you find the right spot, your ZZ plant will be an easygoing, long-lasting addition to your space.

Pet Toxicity

ZZs are toxic to pets if ingested.

Light

These plants thrive best in bright, indirect sunlight but they can tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight as this can scorch the leaves.

Water Requirements

Water your ZZ Plant only when it has completely dried out, about every 2-4 weeks. In low light conditions or in the winter you may only need to water once a month.

Watch our for...

If your ZZ Plant becomes leggy or shows little new growth, it may need more light.  Every so often it’s important to wipe down the leaves to remove dust to help promote photosynthesis.

Plant Buddies

Snake plants have similar care needs and are extremely low maintenance like the ZZ.
