Sansevieria (Snake Plant)

Sansevieria (Snake Plant)

Sansevieria, also known as Snake Plant, are admired for their striking, upright leaves and *almost* indestructible nature. These hardy plants are incredibly low-maintenance and can thrive in a wide range of lighting conditions, from bright, indirect light to low light. With just a little care and love, snake plants can grow up to 4 feet, making them a perfect choice for all plant enthusiasts!

Pet Toxicity

Sansevieria are toxic to pets.

Light

Sansevieria grow and thrive in bright, indirect light. They can tolerate low-light conditions better than most plants, however their growth will be slower. If natural light is limited they can grow under artificial light.

Water Requirements

Water your snake plant only when the soil is completely dry, as it stores water in its leaves and doesn't need frequent watering. During the winter, when the plant enters its dormancy stage, reduce watering, and increase it in the summer when temperatures are hotter and drier.

Watch our for...

Snake plants thrive on neglect, but do still need watering. If the leaves are wrinkled, your snake plant is likely too dry and needs a drink. Yellowing leaves may indicate overwatering or root rot. Lastly, when watering, be sure not to get the leaves wet, as they prefer to keep dry and don’t like moisture on their leaves!

Plant Buddies

ZZ plants are similarly low maintenance and also tolerate a wide range of light conditions.
