Pothos
Pothos are loved for their easy-care nature and vibrant, trailing vines. With heart-shaped leaves that can range from rich green to variegated patterns of yellow, white, and cream, these plants are perfect for adding a touch of lush greenery to any space. One of the more low-maintenance plants, pothos can thrive in a variety of lighting conditions and require less frequent watering, making them a great choice for both beginners and seasoned plant lovers!
Pet Toxicity
Despite their popularity, pothos are toxic to animals.
Light
Pothos plants thrive in bright, indirect light but are also quite tolerant of lower light conditions. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight as it can scorch their leaves. They also do well under artificial grow lights!
Water Requirements
Water your pothos when the top 1-2 inches of soil have dried out, usually every 1-2 weeks. Be sure the pot has proper drainage to prevent water from accumulating, which can lead to root rot.
Watch our for...
Pothos bounce back more readily from slight underwatering than overwatering. Yellowing leaves, wilting, or a foul odor from the soil are often signs of overwatering. On the other hand, drooping or dry leaves may indicate that your plant needs more frequent watering.
Plant Buddies
Plants with similar care needs include spider plants and syngonium (arrowhead plants).
